What braking system does Blue Ox make?
Blue Ox builds the Patriot, a portable proportional braking system. It sits on the floor of your towed vehicle and applies the brakes in step with your motorhome, then lifts out so you can move it to another vehicle.
Is the Blue Ox Patriot portable or permanent?
The Patriot is portable. There is no permanent installation -- you set it in front of the driver's seat, connect it, and remove it when you are done. That makes it easy to use across more than one towed vehicle.
What does "proportional" braking mean?
A proportional brake senses how hard your motorhome is braking and applies the towed vehicle's brakes to match -- gentle for a light slowdown, firmer for a hard stop. The result is smoother, more natural stops and less wear.
Will the Patriot work with my flat tow setup?
Yes. The Patriot works with any flat-tow setup, no matter which tow bar or baseplate brand you run. Tell us your towed vehicle and we will confirm the right Patriot model and any cables you need.
