Flat Towing Questions, Answered
Can my vehicle be flat towed?
It depends on the transmission and drivetrain. Check the recreational towing section of your owner’s manual, or call us at 877-736-2267 and we’ll check for you.
Do I really need a supplemental braking system?
Yes. It is required by law in most U.S. states and Canadian provinces. It shortens stopping distance and protects your motorhome brakes. We leave brakes out of the package on purpose so you can choose the system that fits your vehicle and preference.
Blue Ox or Roadmaster — which is better?
Both are excellent. The right choice depends on baseplate availability for your vehicle and your preferred hookup style. Call us and we’ll recommend the best system for your exact motorhome and towed vehicle.
Can I install a flat tow package myself?
Many customers do. The baseplate is usually the most involved part (some prefer a shop for that). The rest of the system is straightforward. We’re available by phone if you need help during installation.
