Do I need a brake?
|
We hope you never experience an emergency, but if you do, definitely yes, for safety. This is so important they made a law out of it.
Also, how about your poor tow bar? Every time you brake the motorhome, the tow bar takes the shove of thousands of pounds, then has to pull that same dinghy when you go again.

Five reasons you need supplemental brakes
1. Safety first Both vehicles brake together, so you stop in less time and distance. |
2. It's required Most states and many Canadian provinces require it over 3,000 lb towed. |
3. Chassis warranty Workhorse/Chevrolet voids above 1,000 lb without one. Ford's limit is 1,500 lb. |
4. Wear and tear The motorhome is no longer braking for two vehicles. |
5. Good sense Every other trailer on the road has its own brakes. Two extra tons should too. |

Keep the bar level
|
Yes, but only 20% of installs need an adjustment. The tow bar must be level. There is a 3-inch above- or below-level zone where you do not need an adapter. Anything outside that is mandatory.
Add a rise/drop receiver in Options on this page. High-low adapters in 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 inch. Rated 5,000 to 10,000 lb.
