Safe & Easy — RV Camp Champ

Trailer lights without the stress — the right CURT harness, matched to your vehicle, with real people if you need a hand.

Why plug-and-play is the easy path

A CURT custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle’s factory wiring — usually in the rear cargo area — and gives you a standard trailer plug (most often a 4-flat). Running lights, turns, and brakes on the trailer follow the vehicle. No cutting. No splicing. No guessing which wire is which.

That’s Safe & Easy: the correct part, a clean install, and help when you want it.

How it works

Your vehicle already has circuits for stop, turn, and tail lamps. The CURT harness connects through the factory connector — not random splices. An integrated module converts those signals for a standard trailer plug so the trailer lights follow what the vehicle is doing.

On many vehicles you’ll find the connection behind an interior panel in the rear cargo area. The harness then ends in a 4-pole flat (or the plug style listed on the product) where you connect the trailer. Typical install is often about 30–60 minutes; some applications take longer.

Plug-and-play vs splice-in — which do you need?

This is CURT plug-and-play (custom) wiring. These harnesses are built for specific vehicles. They plug into the factory wiring or a factory tow socket — no cutting or splicing the vehicle’s wires — and give you a standard trailer plug (often a 4-flat).

Splice-in converters are different. They’re used when CURT doesn’t offer a custom harness for that vehicle. You join into the taillight circuits and the converter adapts the signals for the trailer. That works, but it’s a different install and not what these plug-and-play kits are for.

Simple check: Use the year / make / model selector. If a CURT harness appears, that’s your plug-and-play match. If nothing fits, you may need a splice-in solution — or call us at 877-736-2267 and we’ll help you sort it out.

Before you order

  • Confirm year, make, and model — wiring is vehicle-specific
  • Check the product for plug type (4-flat is common here)
  • Note listed install time and any access notes
  • Need a different plug style? Call us — we’ll point you the right way

Good to know

  • Some vehicles only power certain circuits with the engine running
  • Always test before a trip: tail, brake, left turn, right turn
  • Keep connectors clean and fully seated
  • These are custom-fit CURT harnesses — not universal splice-in kits
