Equalizer Weight Distribution Hitch

With a history of providing unparalleled safety and control to trailer owners for more than 30 years, the Equalizer Hitch is considered by many to be the very best sway control hitch device available. The hitch's patented head, called the Tri-Wing, provides two points of steel-on-steel friction that work to eliminate trailer sway by causing downward pressure from the weight of the trailer tongue, where the hitch ball is mounted.

Simultaneously, upward pressure is exerted by the spring arms attached to rigid, height-adjustable sway control brackets. These brackets add two more steel-on-steel friction points to further counteract trailer sway while also helping to evenly distribute weight between the trailer and tow vehicle. This weight distribution hitch configuration creates a strong bridge between the two vehicles, combating the tendency of the tow vehicle to teeter over its rear axle, causing steering control loss and braking difficulties.

Overall, these opposing forces of pressure, one upwards and the other downwards, provide unprecedented anti-sway control in a unique four-point frictional system that prevents trailer sway even before is has a chance to start occurring.

Equalizer Hitch Parts

The Equalizer Hitch comes in five different sizes to accommodate whatever size and type of trailer you have, including RV trailers, horse trailers, boat trailers and utility trailers. Proper size is determined by your trailer's tongue weight and its overall weight. Hitches come in kits either with or without the correctly sized Equalizer shank. Other Equalizer hitch parts found offered by RV Camp Champ include a complete selection of various sizes of adjustable shanks. You'll also find a choice of Chromoly hitch balls in 2" x 1-1/4" or 2" x 2-1/4", 8,000-pound sizes. Additional items include a thin-walled socket for use in attaching or removing a hitch ball when there's not enough room to use an end wrench. You'll also find a package of hitch-head bolt hardware.
